Joshua Moner · Software developer · systems & embedded engineer
I build reliablesystems acrosssoftware and hardware.
I build production software, infrastructure, edge-ML systems, and embedded controllers with an emphasis on reliability and clear technical communication.
04 FLAGSHIP SYSTEMS · SOFTWARE THROUGH PHYSICAL CONTROL
01 Selected work
Four engineering case studies.
BIP-OBTI Deployment
Production deploymentA production workflow that converts Oracle BI Publisher promotions into validated pull requests and approved CI/CD deployments.
RedoxForge Ecosystem
Production ecosystemA public information platform backed by self-managed Kubernetes, GitOps delivery, persistent storage, and isolated game services.
Edge ML Respiratory Monitor
Completed research prototypeA six-phase research project that advanced respiratory-audio classification from data preparation and CNN experiments to real-time Google Coral Edge TPU inference.
Hydroponic Automation
Operational systemThree independent Arduino controllers monitor the environment, regulate water temperature, and maintain the reservoir level in an operational hydroponic system.
02 Technical range
One engineer. Multiple layers.
Product & enterprise software
Next.js interfaces, strict API contracts, Oracle integration, and governed workflows.
View evidence 02Infrastructure & platforms
Containers, GitHub Actions, GitOps, Kubernetes, storage, ingress, RBAC, and network policy.
View evidence 03Embedded & physical control
Firmware, sensors, relays, display timing, persistence, safety states, wiring, and real actuators.
View evidence 04Machine learning at the edge
Audio preprocessing, CNN iteration, quantization, constrained hardware, and Edge TPU deployment.
View evidence03 How I work
A practical engineering approach.
Define the constraints
I identify the users, interfaces, failure modes, and success criteria before choosing an implementation.
Engineer the complete system
I treat frontend, APIs, infrastructure, model pipelines, firmware, and hardware as connected parts of one design.
Validate and communicate
I test critical behavior and document the decisions, tradeoffs, and evidence behind the final system.
04 Experience
Professional and academic experience.
May 2025 – August 2025
The J.M. Smucker Company
Information Services Developer
Developed secure Next.js applications, modular REST APIs, and governed Oracle workflows. Built and deployed BIP-OBTI Automated Deployment, which moved BI Publisher promotions into a GitHub-based review and release process.
Open related case studyAugust 2024 – May 2025
Russ College of Engineering and Technology
Teaching Assistant
Collaborated with engineering faculty on lesson delivery and provided one-on-one technical support to help students troubleshoot coursework and strengthen their understanding of core concepts.
05 Behind the work
Joshua Moner.
Always building.
My work spans enterprise web applications, Kubernetes platforms, edge machine learning, and embedded automation. I enjoy translating complex requirements into reliable systems that can be tested, explained, and maintained.
